Problem/ While Facebook relies heavily on its user community to flag content related to depression and suicidal thoughts, it’s easy to miss the subtler warning signs until it’s too late.
Insight/ Studies have shown that word choices and writing styles in social media can provide indications of depression or suicidal thoughts.
Idea/ Found in Translation adapts the existing ‘See Translation’ function on Facebook to identify and draw attention to the subtle signs of depression and suicidal thoughts in posts, increasing awareness about the different warning signs and empowering early intervention.
